OUR 2025 AGM
The Wandsworth Lib Dem 2025 AGM will provide the annual occasion for members to participate in the running of the Local Party’s affairs.
WHAT HAPPENS?
Officers in the local party will report to the membership on how the last year has gone, and the prospects: members will ask questions: certain decisions relating to the conduct of our finances will be considered; and elections for the 2026 Executive will be held. In addition, a guest speaker will provide a broader perspective on our Lib Dem Affairs.
THE VENUE AND TIME
The Wandsworth LibDem AGM will take place on Tuesday 4 November at the Earlsfield Library Hall, with doors opening at 7pm and proceedings starting at 7.30pm.
THE AGENDA
The agenda is here. Paper copies will be available at the AGM. In summary:
- The meeting will receive reports from the Chair, the Treasurer, our three constituencies of Battersea, Putney and Tooting
- The financial information will be posted a few days before the AGM takes place.
- We will hold a consultation on voting procedure for contested places on the Executive
- The returning officer will supervise the elections, subject to the need for a ballot of all our members if a position or positions on the 2025 Executive is contested.
- To close, Lib Dem MP Lisa Smart will address the meeting, with an opportunity for questions
All Members are cordially invited and encouraged to come. This is your opportunity to learn what is going on in the local party, to hear about a national Lib Dem perspective, to ask questions and to hold the Executive to account.
THE ELECTION OF THE 2026 EXECUTIVE
The Executive encourages nominations for membership of the new Executive in 2026. We would like the Executive to be as representative as possible of the local community we serve. For more information about standing for the Executive contact the Returning Officer Conor Campbell or email conor.libdems@gmail.com. Nomination forms can be obtained from Conor or by downloading a copy. Nominations will close at the AGM, shortly before the election procedure.
Applications from women and from minorities who might be underrepresented are particularly welcome. If more than one applicant applies for a particular position, the applicants will be given an opportunity for all but one to withdraw, before the contest proceeds to a vote of all the membership. You can read the rules for the conduct of any competitive elections, also available as a Word document here.
