Fergus Foord

Fergus was born and grew up in Wandsworth. As a child, Fergus remembers spending his summers sailing on Wimbledon Park Lake. Following three years at university and a year studying in Hong Kong, Fergus has moved back to Wandsworth. Fergus is a young professional and works in communications and research at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. Fergus cares deeply about his community and wants to ensure Southfields continues to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Sue Wixley

Sue Wixley

Sue has lived on the Grid in Southfields with her husband for 17 years. Originally from South Africa, she was active in the anti-apartheid movement and later worked on the international campaign against landmines — a career spent fighting injustice. That commitment continues today. Sue works for a leading legal charity and is a trustee of a local advice charity supporting people across Wandsworth. She is one of the co-founders of Recycle More Southfields and has been a passionate advocate for our neighbourhood for nearly two decades.

Sue and Fergus' record of action

Ending the District Line delays

Sue and Fergus have secured funding to modernise the District Lines' Wimbledon Branch, working with the Lib Dem MP for Wimbledon Paul Kohler. Work is underway to upgrade the old signalling system by summer and fix the faulty live train information boards.

Making our parks and cut-throughs safer

We've worked with the Council's safety team to improve safety in local parks and cut-throughs. Police have increased their patrols of King George's Park after school and new mobile CCTV is in place to help local police take action on crime. We've also raised issues of antisocial behaviour with our local police who have agreed to pay special attention to certain areas on their regular patrols. There is only one working fixed CCTV camera in the entire ward and we are campaigning for more to be implemented.

New pavements

We've secured brand new pavements for Elborough Street. If elected, we will continue working to get the worst pavements in Southfields fixed so that they are safe for everyone.

More street bins

Sue and Fergus have secured new street bins and anti fly-tipping signage in Southfields to reduce littering fly-tipping and dog fouling in our area. Now, we're pushing Wandsworth Council to install mobile CCTV in fly-tipping hotspots, on street corners and in housing estates to clamp down on the problem.
