Join our fight to fill Southfields' empty tree pits
Local Lib Dems have uncovered 46 empty tree pits in Southfields alone.
Despite Wandsworth Council spending £100,000 on tree planting between 2024-26, tree pits across Southfields remain empty and treeless.
Local Lib Dem campaigners are pushing Wandsworth Council to plant trees in Southfields' empty tree pits and protect our green spaces:
“It’s disappointing that tree pits on Southfields' streets and green spaces remain empty and treeless.”
“Local tree pits are vital for reducing carbon emissions and the impact of surface-level flooding on our streets as well as protecting our ecosystems and biodiversity”.
“Southfields deserves better and we’re calling on Wandsworth Council to fulfil their duty to provide a better environment for residents” said local campaigner Fergus Foord.
