Backing the Northern Line extension to Clapham Junction

In preparation for the development of the Clapham Junction masterplan, Wandsworth Council commissioned a study to determine whether the Northern Line extension to Clapham Junction is technically feasible. The study has concluded that there are no engineering or geological constraints preventing the extension from going ahead.

A once in a lifetime opportunity to link Clapham Junction with the London Underground?

Clapham Junction Station is the busiest train interchange in the UK, yet is not fit for purpose: as everyone using it during commuter hours knows far too well, it is extremely overcrowded.

Clapham Junction has been identified as an Opportunity Area in the Mayor of London’s London Plan. That has the potential to bring new jobs and infrastructure to the area. It will also bring new homes. How will all these people travel when the station is already struggling to cope?

The council is asking for residents' views. If you believe the Northern Line Extension should happen, this is the perfect moment to make your voice heard.

The Council needs to know how important this is for local residents.
